USEFUL TIPS

WI-FI/Internet Access. WI-FI access will be free of charge during FEZA2023 at the Grand Hotel Bernardin Convention Center.

No-Smoking Policy. It is against the law to smoke in indoor public places in Slovenia, unless in specifically designated areas.

Emergency Medical Services. Emergency services will be accessible at all times during FEZA2023. All emergencies MUST be reported to the registration desk as soon as it is possible to do so.

Currency/Payments. The currency in Slovenia is euro (EUR/€). There are a number of exchange offices and banks in Portorož-Portorose where money can be exchanged. All major credit card providers (MasterCard/Eurocard, Visa, Diners and American Express) are accepted in Slovenia, with the exception of taxis.

Weather. The FEZA2023 conference will be taking place in July, which is the hottest month of the year in Slovenia. The average temperature in Portorož-Portorose during July ranges from 16.5°C (61.7°F) to 28.4°C (83.1°F). The average sea temperature in July is 25°C (77°F).

Plugs/Electricity. Slovenia uses the EU plug types (i.e. Type C and Type F) and is supplied by alternating current electricity (220 V and 50 Hz).

Language. Slovene is the official language in Slovenia. However, most Slovenians speak at least one other language, normally English, German and/or Italian.

Responsibility/Insurance.  The responsibility of personal accidents/injuries and loss or damage of property during the FEZA conference and associated events is not accepted by the Organising Committee and lies solely with the participants of the conference.   Therefore, it is on the onus of participants to take out personal/health insurance should they wish to do so. A valid Certificate of Insurance is needed from countries having a Health Insurance Convention with Slovenia to be treated. Those without insurance will have to pay for the cost of medical treatment. Citizens and residents from the EU countries, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland may also be able to access medical treatment through their European Health Insurance Card (for further details please see https://ec.europa.eu/social/main.jsp?catId=559).  As of the 1st of January 2021, the UK replaced the European Health Insurance Card with a UK Global Health Insurance Card.
